| The hydropower plant Baspa II is the largest project in India, operated by Jaiprakash Hydro Power Ltd., an independent power producer. Baspa II has supplied electricity from the Himalayas into the Indian grid since June 2003. With a maximum output of 360 MVA, the run-of-river plant at an elevation of 1,825 m is reducing the peak load shortage in the Federal State of Himachal Pradesh as well as in the Greater New Delhi area.
Voith Siemens Hydro, as consortium leader, has supplied three generators and the associated electrical equipment. |
