| The Aimorés hydro power plant is located on the Doce River in the south eastern state of Minas Gerais in Brazil. It is one of the most important projects for Voith Siemens Hydro in Brazil.
In this project, Voith Siemens Hydro worked for the CHA-Hydroelectric Consortium of Aimorés, consisting of the Partners „Vale do Rio Doce“, the largest Brazilian mining and logistics company, and the Brazilian electricity company CEMIG, Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais.
Voith Siemens Hydro’s share:
- 3 Kaplan Turbines with governors, mechanical auxiliaries, steel structures, lifting equipment
The first machine started operation in December 2003, the other two units begun operation in May 2004 and produce a total output of 336.75 MW. |
