Voith Turbo Scharfenberg fits state-of-the-art couplings and energy dissipating devices in 321 mass transit railcars for Deutsche Bahn AG, the German national rail carrier.

At the 2007 Econ Awards for Corporate Communication in Berlin, Voith AG’s Corporate Communications unit wins the platinum award in the category “Image Films/Interactive Media”.

Voith Industrial Services opens a new workshop complete with railcar wash plant at Venlo-Blerick in the Netherlands. Voith Railservice B.V. will use the new facility to handle contracts such as the maintenance order for 16 trains received in March 2007 from Veolia Transport Nederland.

Voith Turbo announces that Havelländische Eisenbahn AG, headquartered in Berlin-Spandau, has placed an order for two Maxima 40 CC locomotives. The order includes an option on six additional Maximas.

Jin Sheng Paper Industries (Tianjin) Co. Ltd. in China orders the entire Jin Sheng PM 32 paper machine from Voith Paper. The new production line will be used to manufacture kraft liner and test liner board.

Voith Siemens Hydro takes over Kössler, a small hydropower plant company. Headquartered in St. Georgen, Austria, the Kössler GmbH machine factory employs around 70 people and posted sales of €17 million last fiscal year.

Acting as part of a consortium, Voith Siemens Hydro is given the nod to supply the electromechanical fittings to the Picote II hydropower plant in Portugal. The customer is Portuguese energy utility Energias de Portugal.

Dongguan Sea Dragon Paper Industries Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of Nine Dragons Paper Co. Ltd. in Dongguan, China, commissions Voith Paper to supply paper machine PM 28.

Voith Turbo Scharfenberg ships 344 couplings to railcar manufacturer Bombardier. The end customer is SNCF, the French national rail carrier.

Voith Industrial Services buys a 100% stake in SIS Skandinavisk Industrieservice AS in Ringstedt, Denmark. SIS is a leading provider of technical services for the petrochemical and chemical industries and for power plants in Scandinavia.

Voith Siemens Hydro announces an order to ship the entire set of electromechanical equipment to Turkey’s Uzuncayir hydropower plant.

In the presence of Michael Glos, Federal Minister of the Economy, Voith Siemens Hydro and its Korean joint venture partner Renetec sign an agreement to develop, install and test the first three turbines for a 600-Megawatt tide power plant for the South Korean province of Jeollanam-do.

W. Hamburger Papirgyato KFT awards Voith Paper the contract to supply the whole of paper machine PM 7 to its Hungarian plant in Dunaujvaros.

Voith Siemens Hydro is commissioned to provide the full complement of electromechanical equipment for Chile’s La Confluencia hydropower plant. The end customer is Hidroelectrica La Confluencia S.A.

A diesel-powered vehicle from British construction equipment manufacturer JCB sets a new world speed record of 563 km/h for this class of vehicle on the Bonneville Salt Lake in the USA. On board the recordbreaking vehicle were hydraulic torsional vibration dampers from Voith Turbo.

Voith Siemens Hydro wins the contract to deliver three Francis turbines plus generators and a variety of other equipment to the Eastmain 1A hydropower plant on the Rupert River in Canada. The end customer is Hydro Québec.

Voith Industrial Services Indumont is commissioned by BP Gelsenkirchen GmbH to handle “turnarounds” for Ruhr Oel GmbH, a joint venture owned by Deutsche BP AG and Petroleos de Venezuela SA. The order involves temporarily deactivating parts of refineries in order to modernize them, improve availability and safety, and perform pipeline construction work.

French national rail operator SNCF adds an extra 1 500 wheelset transmissions to an existing order for 1 000 transmissions for its AGC regional passenger transport trains, bringing the total order volume to 2 500.

Dongguan Nine Dragons Paper Co. Ltd, one of the world’s largest producers of packaging paper, gives Voith Paper the nod to supply the PM 27 test liner paper machine. In 2007, Nine Dragons ordered a total of four paper machines from Voith.

Various bus operators in Norway place orders with Voith Turbo for a total of over 300 DIWA bus transmissions.

Voith Siemens Hydro Power Generation is commissioned to supply all the electromechanical fittings – including all eight 600-MW Francis turbines – for the Chinese Jinping II hydropower plant in Sichuan Province.The customer is Ertan Hydropower Development Co. (EHDC).

Australia’s EDI Rail orders 1 252 couplings for 626 railcars. This is the largest order Voith Turbo has ever received from Australia.

West Coast Paper Mills in India orders a complete paper machine from Voith Paper. As of 2009, the Dandeli PM 6 will roll out wood-free paper with a width of nearly 6 meters.

Local passenger transport utilities in Bucharest, the Romanian capital, place orders for 500 DIWA transmissions for low-floor buses.

On behalf of EADS Deutschland GmbH, DIW assumes responsibility for technical facility management at the customer’s sites in Ulm, Manching, Augsburg, Unterschleissheim and Friedrichshafen.

Voith Turbo is elated to receive an order for 60 front ends (each comprising the complete nose section and cabin roof and including couplings and cross beams) for Spain’s second-generation Talgo 350 high-speed train.

A further order establishes Voith Industrial Services even more firmly in Turkey. The company recently founded in this country is now cleaning buildings and industrial facilities at two Pirelli sites.

Alstom commissions Voith Turbo to supply around 700 wheelset transmissions for regional railcars run by Swedish rail operator Skanetrafiken and Deutsche Bahn AG.

Voith Paper and Sweden’s Billerud Skärblacka AB sign the contract for the large-scale rebuild of the Skärblacka PM 7 paper machine.

Voith Turbo fits a total of 272 wheelset transmissions in local passenger trains made by Stadler and bound for Algeria.

In China, Voith Industrial Services wins its first contract outside the automotive industry. Over the next two years, Voith Industrial Services will handle the packaging production line, logistical services, laundry services and maintenance cleaning for Dutch food producer International Nutrition.

A single order for 416 wheelset transmissions is received from the United States. The drive systems will be fitted in local passenger trains operated by the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) in Philadelphia.

Voith AG issues a new ten-year, euro-denominated bond with a volume of EUR 300 million.

Voith Siemens Hydro receives an order to supply four Kaplan turbines for the 1100-MW Estreito power plant in Brazil. Voith Siemens will complete this large order, placed by Consórcio Estreito Energia, in a consortium
together with Alstom Power.

Voith Turbo Scharfenberg in Salzgitter wins an award within the framework of the “Germany – Land of Ideas” competition. A total of 365 locations across the length and breadth of the country receive similar accolades.

At Norske Skog in Jaguariaíva, Brazil, Voith Paper is commissioned to perform a major rebuild for a paper machine.

At MAN in Niepolomice, Poland, Voith Industrial Services (Hörmann Industrietechnik) shoulders in future the responsibility for maintaining production equipment for the final assembly phase. Management of technical and infrastructure facilities, object management and operator services are also included in the mandate.

In Stuttgart, three German trade journals – “Fernfahrer”, “lastauto omnibus” and “trans aktuell” – award Voith Turbo the readers’ prize and the “Best Brand” prize for the Voith Retarder.

Voith Siemens Hydro and Basque power utility Ente Vasco de Energia sign a supply agreement for delivery of the world’s first commercial wave power plant, which is to be built at the port of Mutriku on Spain’s Atlantic
coast.

Voith Industrial Services, acting in concert with the subsidiaries DIW and Premier, receives a major order from General Motors Europe. Over the next three years, an array of services are to be provided at eight European
assembly plant in Germany, the UK, Sweden, Poland and Spain. The order includes technical cleaning of all production facilities (especially the paint shops), cleaning in the context of regular maintenance and care for
outdoor facilities.

Günther H. Oettinger, Minister-President of Baden-Württemberg, and Professor Dr. Horst Köhler, President of the Federal Republic of Germany, present Dr. Hermut Kormann with the Federal Cross of Merit and the ribbon of the Federal German Order of Merit.

China’s Dongguan Nine Dragons Paper Co., Ltd., one of the world’s largest manufacturers of packaging papers, and Voith Paper sign a contract for the delivery of four paper machines. All four machines will go on-line within the next 24 months.

Voith Turbo Scharfenberg is requested to supply a total of 60 front ends (each comprising the complete nose section and cabin roof and including couplings and cross beams) for Spain’s second-generation Talgo 350 high-speed train.

Voith Paper and Votorantim sign an agreement under which the former will supply the press section for a cellulose plant at Três Lagoas in Brazil.

Voith Siemens Hydro and JSC Gidro OGK, a subsidiary of the Russian RAO UES group, sign a contract governing the replacement of unit number two at the Russian Uglich hydropower plant. Both the hydraulic machinery and the ancillary equipment will be modernized.

Voith Industrial Services wins a strategically important order for maintenance of part of the rail fleet operated by Dutch local passenger transport firm Veolia Transport Nederland. The nine-year contract covers repairs and improvements to the trains in addition to maintenance and inspection.

Carteria Giorgione S.p.A. in Castelfranco Veneto, Italy, commissions Voith Paper to rebuild a packaging paper machine.

Voith Turbo will fit 620 new urban buses in Dubai with the latest generation of DIWA transmissions. The customer is DRTA, the Dubai Roads & Transport Authority.

In Wolfsburg, home of VW, Voith Industrial Services (Hörmann Industrietechnik) takes charge of technical facility management, care of the substance of the buildings and presentation technology on behalf of the automotive group.

Hidroelectrica S.A. awards Voith Siemens Hydro the contract to fully rehabilitate the Lotru Ciunget hydropower plant in Romania.

In the context of moves to expand its production of raw silicon for the solar industry, Wacker Chemie AG complements an existing master agreement by placing two sizeable new orders with Voith Industrial Services.

Germany’s Federal Ministry of Education and Research commissions Voith Industrial Services (Hörmann Engineering) to produce the blueprints, database entries and simulation tools for a lightweight automobile door. Computation and design of the door are to follow later. The project, handled in collaboration with partners, aims to prepare the way for the use of magnesium in private vehicle construction.

Voith Paper is awarded the contract for the Bhigwan PM 2 paper machine, plus the stock preparation and finishing modules, at Ballarpur Industries Ltd. (BILT) in India.

The Maxima locomotive from Voith wins the “Red Dot Award”, a coveted international design prize.

Voith Siemens Hydro wins an order for Francis turbines, generators and additional equipment for the Darica hydropower plant in Turkey. The customer is Yapisan Elektrik Üretim A.S.

Acceptance of the pump turbine model for the Limberg II pumped storage power plant run by Austrian operator Verbund-Austrian Hydro Power AG goes through successfully at Voith Siemens Hydro.

Hans Müller, former member of the Board of Management at Voith AG, is named as a Tappi Fellow by the world’s leading paper industry association.

Even before taking receipt of the two water tractors it ordered from Voith Turbo Marine in August 2006, the Shanghai Deep Water Port submits an order for a further water tractor fitted with two Voith Schneider
propellers.

Voith Siemens Hydro is given the nod to supply and fit Kaplan turbines and generators for the Baguari hydropower plant in Brazil. The customer is a consortium consisting of Cemig, Furnas and Neoenergia.

On behalf of GE Energy Products GmbH & Co. KG, Voith Industrial Services shoulders responsibility for main inspections of the gas turbines at Shell Deutschland Oil GmbH in Hamburg.

Voith Turbo accepts a guest professorship at the Institute for Rail Vehicles and Railway Technology at the Technical University of Dresden.

Voith Paper rebuilds the press section of PM 2 at Klingele Papierwerke in Weener, Germany.

After a huge fire at Robert Bosch GmbH in Rommelsbach, Germany, on December 31, 2006, Voith Industrial Services’ DIW division steps in to handle special cleaning and site clearing assignments. The work is coordinated closely with the customer and the fire department, enabling production to recommence in short order.

The first of a total of 240 locomotives from DLoco, all fitted with wheelset transmissions from Voith Turbo, is officially presented to the Chinese Ministry of Railways.

In Zwickau, Germany, Voith Industrial Services and Hörmann Engineering team up to offer support for the logistical systems in place at Volkswagen Sachsen GmbH. The services provided include (round the clock) prophylactic and operational support for the customer’s systems, focusing on visualization, order tracking and material flow management.

The first pilot wind energy plant to feature the newly developed WinDrive from Voith Turbo goes into operation at the DEWI OCC test site in Cuxhaven on Germany’s North Sea coast.

At Werzalit GmbH & Co. KG in Niederorschel, Germany, Voith Industrial Services is now responsible for every aspect of site maintenance, including highly automated production facilities and special-purpose system technology or the timber materials industry.

Voith Turbo is commissioned by Japanese railcar manufacturer Kinki Sharyo to fit Scharfenberg couplings in a total of 87 railcars for the new subway in Dubai.

Phoenix Pulp and Paper Public Company Limited – part of the Thai-based Siam Cement Group – places an order with Voith Paper for a complete new paper machine to produce high-grade copy and offset papers.

Voith Siemens Hydro Power Generation is commissioned to supply Kaplan turbines, generators and other components to Kraftwerk Eglisau-Glattfelden AG for deployment at the Ernegg hydropower plant in Switzerland.

The ground-breaking ceremony is held for the new generator factory hall at Voith Siemens Hydro Power Generation in Shanghai, China.

Energiedienst AG (ED), a subsidiary of EnBW, commissionsa consortium led by Voith Siemens Hydro to deliver Kaplan turbines and generators for the new Rheinfelden hydropower plant on the border between Germany and Switzerland.

Ak Enerji in Turkey awards Voith Siemens Hydro the contract to supply equipment for the Akocak hydropower plant.

Voith Industrial Services builds, dismantles and assembles a chimney with a diameter of 11 meters and a height of 30 meters in the asphalt mixing works of Baumaschinentechnik International GmbH. Voith Industrial Services also produces and mounts a bucket elevator pit for the asphalt mixing works Neubrandenburg and Neustrelitz, Germany.

Voith Turbo launches its DIWA-Pack, a complete drive package for power classes up to 300 kW. The DIWA-Pack is designed for use in lightweight railcars for local public transport.

As part of a consortium project, Voith Siemens Hydro takes charge of rehabilitating and partially modernizing the three Kaplan turbines at the Tiszalök hydropower plant operated by Tiszaviz Vizerömü KFT in Hungary.

Nine Dragons in China orders the paper machine PM 18 and several additional components from Voith Paper.

Voith Industrial Services assumes the de- and reassembly of the complete production machines and warehouse technology for the welding machine manufacturer Fronius International GmbH in Austria. The relocation covers the company’s three plants in Wels, Thalheim and Pettenbach, which will all be moved to the new site in Sattledt.

Voith Siemens Hydro Power Generation and Renetec, a Korean company, sign a letter of intent regarding the launch of a joint venture. The joint venture company will develop and test machinery for use in large-scale tide energy power plant.

Existing service agreements between Voith Industrial Services and BASF in Ludwigshafen, Germany are extended by contract filling duties.

Voith Turbo H + L Hydraulic, Rutesheim, Germany, acquires BW Hydraulik, headquartered in Wuppertal, Germany.

Voith Industrial Services extends its framework contracts with Infineon Technologies Dresden GmbH & Co. OHG and Qimonda Dresden GmbH & Co. OHG in Germany. The scope of services includes preventive maintenance and service, as well as the maintenance and service of the handling systems.

Guangzhou Paper, China, places an order with Voith Paper for one of the world’s largest deinking plant.

Voith Turbo ships four geared variable-speed fluid couplings to RWE Power for the world’s largest lignitefired power plant in Neurath, Germany.

On the Voith PM 3 at its facility in Dagang, China, Gold East Paper sets new world speed and production records for wood-free coated paper: 1,662 meters per minute and 2782 tons per day.

Voith Turbo supplies ten cardan shafts, each measuring nine meters, to the wastewater pumping station operated by the Singapore National Water Agency (PUB).

Built by Voith Paper, the new PM 12 goes smoothly into service at Huatai Paper Company Limited in Shangdong, China. Assembly was completed in only five months – an unprecedented achievement anywhere in the world.

Hrvatska Elektroprivreda orders four Francis turbines from Voith Siemens Hydro Power Generation for Zakucac hydro power station.

Voith Turbo equips ten five-car vehicles of the Korean rail manufacturer ROTEM with components. The end customer is Syrian State Railways. The delivery covers, among other things, turbo transmissions and final drives, as well as cooling systems, couplers and cardan shafts.

Voith Siemens Hydro Power Generation is pleased to receive an order from Consorcio Epresarial Salto Pilão for two generators for Salto Pilão hydro power station in Brazil.

At the international rail exhibition InnoTrans in Berlin/Germany, Voith Turbo is presenting a world innovation – the first locomotive built by Voith. The Voith Maxima 40 CC is the world‘s most powerful diesel-hydraulic locomotive.

From October, Deutsche Industriewartung DIW will carry out the UVV regulations for accident prevention) for load handling devices at Siemens AG A&D in Nuremberg/Germany. The order runs initially for one year.

Voith Siemens Hydro Power will supply five 770-MW Francis turbines for the Venezuelan hydro power station Guri II. The order was placed by EDELCA – Electrification del Caroni C.A.; completion is scheduled for 2008.

Apart from various designs of the Maxima, Voith Turbo will also launch the Gravita, a locomotive for shunting and light mainline service. The Gravita will be available in five different versions.

CPI Yellow Upstream Hydro Power Development Co. Ltd, China, has placed an order for three Francis turbines for Jishixia hydro power plant.

Voith Industrial Services Wind has received an order for 48 wind energy plants of Conergy Services GmbH. The contract covers, among other things, periodical maintenance, 24-hour remote data monitoring and the coordination of sub-suppliers.

In August, 500 Voith Powerpacks are in successful service. Voith Turbo started assembling these drive systems in 2001.

The Voith Annual Report for the fiscal year 2004/2005 receives the gold medal in the category „Equipment, Machinery & Instruments Industry“ at the annual Vision Awards of the „League of American Communication Professionals“ (LAPC).

With a top speed of 2010 meters per minute, the Voithbuilt PM 1 at Rhein Paper in Hürth/Germany is the first to break the 2000-meter „sonic barrier“. Over a continuous 24-hour period, the machine runs at an average speed of 1954 meters per minute – a world record.

Voith Turbo announces an order for equipping 240 electric goods locomotives of the Chinese locomotive manufacturer DLoco with final drives and gear components. The order was placed by the Chinese Ministry of Railway.

Voith Paper receives an order from Thai Paper Co. Ltd. in Thailand for a complete paper machine for producing uncoated, wood-free papers. Voith Industrial Services Energy receives an order from Deutag GmbH Co. KG for the relocation of an asphalt mixing plant. The de- and re-assembly including complex repairs will take until October.
