Voith Siemens Hydro Power Generation: Voith Siemens Hydro Power Generation received modernization contract for the Bistrica hydro power station. Heidenheim, Germany / St. Poelten, Austria / Sarande, Albania: Voith Siemens Hydro Power Generation, St. Poelten, Austria, in consortium with Siemens, Greece, recently received a modernization contract for the hydro power station Bistrica 1 & 2. The total volume of order is 18 Mio. €. The scope of supply for Voith Siemens Hydro Power Generation covers the modernization of Bistrica 1 hydro power station within a period of 26 month for the following scope of supply: steel construction for hydraulic engineering, pressurised tubing including valve flaps, three Francis turbines, with an output of 8 MW each, and generators, turbine governors, automation as well as mechanical and electrical auxiliary equipment. Voith Siemens Hydro is the consortium leader. Apart from the modernization, the establishment of a 110 kV transmission line, substations in the South Albanian cities Sarande and Gjirokaster, as well as grid distribution in Sarande were also assigned to the consortium. The plant is operated by the Albanian power supplier Korporata Elektroenergjetike in Shqiptare.
